MICA’S First Year Fellows in Creative Entrepreneurship is a year-long program for first-year students focused on integrating your 2D and 3D studio courses with business and finance. Being a part of this live/learn community will prepare you for the entrepreneurial side of artmaking.
Who can apply?
First Year students who have been admitted to MICA for Fall 2025 are eligible to apply for the program. Entrepreneurial minded students interested in any major can apply.
Program Highlights
- Co-taught classes that examine business concepts alongside artmaking.
- Special access to the Make Cool Stuff Lab in Leake Hall
- Speaker series featuring a rotation of entrepreneurs & industry professionals
- Fall and spring field trips that emphasize the creative industries (all transportation, meals, and lodging included)
- A Live/Learn Community in Leake Hall
- Materials Fund ($250 per semester)
- Low faculty-to-student ratio- approximately 10 students to 1 faculty member
- Financial Wellness and Professional Practice Workshops
Live/ Learn Community- What does that mean?
Students selected for this experience will live together in Leake Hall, be enrolled in entrepreneurial-focused First Year Experience classes, and participate in co-curricular programming specifically designed to support budding entrepreneurship. This is a designated community just for FYF students.
