MICA welcomes Exchange Visitors to campus as students, scholars, and visiting professors. The Exchange Visitor Program is managed by the U.S. Department of State (DOS). The J-1 non-immigrant visa category for individuals approved to participate in work-and study-based exchange visitor programs.

According to U.S. Department of State regulations, the purpose of the J-1 Exchange Visitor Program is to increase mutual understanding between the people of the United States and the people of other countries by means of educational and cultural exchanges.
